Performance
In 2023 and 2024, the Lexus GX retains its truck-based platform with four-wheel drive across all trim levels, distinguishing it from many other midsize SUVs. In 2023, the GX was equipped with a V8, 4.6-liter engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, generating 301 horsepower. In 2024, this setup gets replaced by a twin-turbo V6, 3.4-liter engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, delivering 349 horsepower. Opting for the new Overtrail trim in 2024 brings additional off-road capabilities such as an aluminum skid plate, all-terrain tires, and an electronic locking rear differential.
Appearance
The 2023 GX sported sleek styling featuring a chrome-accented hourglass grille flanked by angular air vents and LED headlights. Distinctive contours over the rear wheel arches flowed downwards and merged with the lower door panels. In 2024, the Lexus GX will receive a modernized, more aggressive aesthetic. The grille adopts a bolder design with a lower body-colored element rising beneath it. Linear LED headlights make a bold statement and seamlessly integrate with the air vents. Along the sides, the 2024 GX showcases sharply defined lines and uniquely sculpted fenders. The new 2024 Lexus GX Overtrail stands out with black exterior trim and offers two-tone paint options.
Features
The GX interior has been redesigned, featuring a contemporary dashboard, wireless smartphone integration, a head-up display, and an enlarged 14-inch central display screen. Additional features include lane departure warning with mitigation, adaptive cruise control, second-row captain’s chairs, heated seats in the first two rows, a 360-degree camera system, a premium Mark Levinson sound system, wood trim accents, power-folding third-row seats, and much more.
